RIB launches its service charter to promote transparency and accountability in service delivery.

Rwanda Investigation Bureau on November 20 unveiled its service charter at the Ubworoherane stadium in Musanze district. The purpose of the charter is to raise public awareness on rights and obligations of anyone seeking services at RIB.
The RIB service charter was developed in partnership with Transparency International – Rwanda, a non – profit making organization dedicated to fight against corruption and related offenses as well as promoting good governance.
The Minister of State for Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Evode Uwizeyimana, who was the guest of honor at the launching event commended RIB for introducing the service charter. “The service charter is an important tool which will help build public trust and confidence in the institution,” He said 
“Provision of quality services to all should be a norm in every public entity including RIB and a right of every Rwandan citizen and foreigners. ,” he added.
The Service Charter enumerates the rights, duties and obligations of both RIB investigators and the public in a clear manner that is easy to everyone to understand. 
According to RIB’s Deputy Secretary General, Isabelle Kalihangabo, the service charter will also contribute to the fight against corruption in service delivery.
“I have no doubt that if we all understand our rights and obligations towards services provided by RIB, it will help the institution fulfill its legal mandate which includes prevention, detection and investigation of crimes,” she observed.
Kalihangabo called upon all Rwandans and those living in the country to read the service charter and to report to RIB any dissatisfaction.
Marie-Immaculée Ingabire, the chairperson of Transparency International – Rwanda also lauded the work of RIB, adding that the institution has now concluded “a contract with Rwandans to continue serving them professionally.”
The Service Charter also gives toll free numbers to call for assistance or information sharing. Those numbers are the following:
166: Emergence Call or sharing crime related information
3512: Reporting domestic and/or gender based violence 
116: Reporting Child abuse
2040: Reporting Dissatisfaction of RIB services 
2641: Reporting Corruption  
3029: Seeking assistance of Isange One stop Center
